Stories about famous diamonds are some of the most thrilling tales in the world. In fact, I think I may have discovered the perfect resource for bedtime stories for my hypothetical future children–auction catalogues! No, I’m totally serious. The provenance of famous diamonds are always accompanied by murder, mystery, intrigue, romance and a cast of truly eccentric characters in far away lands.
