DIY Tassel Earrings
I was seriously swooning over this pair of Vivienne Westwood neon tassel earrings the other day when it occurred to me, DING! DIY project!!! I usually keep my DIY projects to myself (or rather FB and Tumblr, who am I kidding) but this is quite accessible so I thought I’d share.

Here is what you need: pair of scissors, wire pliers, two beads (one for each earring), two earring backs (available at any craft store) and two tassels. I just happened to have mine lying around (don’t ask, I have a craft box with all sorts of goodies that I dive into once in a while) but I am seriously considering going BIGGER, in which case I might hit up a craft store or curtain store to see if I can’t get one of those GIANT silk tassels they use on curtain ties. SWOON!

1) Take the pliers, bend the earring loop open and remove the cheesy bead that comes with the earring back.

2) Replace cheesy bead with your own sparkly fabulous bead.

3) Cut off the loop not he top of the tassel (if you are using curtain ties you might want to save the cord for later use).

4) Hook the earring loop onto the top of the tassel and use your pliers to bend the loop closed securely around the tassel.

5) Rock it!
Thats it my lovelies! Easy peasy! Until tomorrow. . .

Thank you for sharing this idea…. I love these earrings and love to make things myself too. I will defiantly be giving it a go at the weekend!!!
where did you get the tassels?
You can generally find tassels at craft stores. If your nearby craft or fabric store doesn’t carry them, try online or an upholstery store.
