Spotlight VBH: Bags and Jewels, the Perfect Pairing
My DMD readers know that I SWOON over VBH bags already. They are my antidote to the obnoxious logo-ridden designer bags, a panacea for what I call the “every-real-housewife-of-bumblefuck-wherever has one” plague. VBH bags are sumptuous, elegant, classic yet modern and I SWOON SWOON SWOON! Exclusivity, thats worth something. VBH has a shop in Rome, one in NYC and sells at high end department stores such as Bergdorfs, the Excelsior (Milan), etc. etc. The NYC store at 940 Madison Ave. (btwn 74th and 75th St.) is possibly one of my favorite places to play. Formerly a bank, this high-ceilinged mecca boasts some of the most beautiful bags in the world AND the original vault is converted into their jewelry showroom. Totally decadent!

I met the owner of VBH, VernonBruce Hoeksema this past February in New York at the home of socialite, actress and philanthropist, Yue Sai Kan (photo here). To my utter surprise, Bruce (former model turned fashion-world business mogul) informed me that he personally designs the VBH jewelry line. Not just a pretty face and a business mastermind but also an aesthete? You jest! No, I really don’t. Bruce does it all and with plenty of hubba hubba to boot.

I highly recommend popping by the NYC store if you have a chance, it is an utter experience! If you don’t have time to stop by, give Vincenzo Matta, the assistant manager at VBH, a call (212) 717.9800. Vincenzo makes decadent things happen and is an absolute darling, tell him JZP sent you.
Big Kiss and Bigger Diamonds,
JZP
